New to Trainz 2010

Just thought I would start this new thread on Trainz 2010. I am brand new to this.Some topics to consider for discussion is the Surveyor option.Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.Also, right out of the gate, my program states that my Trainz 2010 is out of date.What is the best way to upgrade my system to make it current.I have a new computer and should be fully adaptable.

Download and install the patch which applies to your current version from here:

Your current version number can be found in the bottom right corner of the first screen that comes up when you launch Trainz.

Note: If you bought your copy of Trainz from certain 3rd party suppliers then your version might not be in the list in the above link. You will have to get it (if and when available) from your supplier.

On the subject of patching, to avoid a potential problem,I advise making sure your DirectX is up-to-date (if it is not already)

Checkout your current build number when you start TS2010. (Bottom left hand corner). Then click on the link in the 3rd post in this tread to download the update from your current build number "xxxxx" to the latest build 44088.
