Missing menu text

I downloaded Trainz 2009 yesterday, only to find out that I have no menu text both on the main screen and any where else that isn't an image. Has anyone else experienced this? I've installed sp1, but that did not help.

Same Problem (missing menu text

I downloaded it yesterday (April 16, 2009) I had the same problem.
The red and green buttons are there and they work. But there is no text to tell me what they mean.

I have upgraded to XP Service Pack 3 and done SP1. I have also upgraded to the current video driver.

Finally I reinstalled Trainz 2009 and did the SP1 patch and the newest patcher when the message popped up. Still no menu text.

Then I switched from Open GL to DirectX and finally got it

Apparently since I did not have Windows SP3 installed in the first place it messed up everything.

I am still getting the message that the content database needs to be rebuilt, although the content manager does not seem to do anything when I select that option.

Motion is jerky and sounds don't line up with screen actions. I think I need a better video card.

Have you run a DxDiag? Does it indicate anything you can recognize?

Always use newest video drivers for 09.
