JCitron, I think you may be able to help!

JCitron. I know you have been around forever and we have worked together before. I also know you are an expert in the "technical" areas of TRAINZ. I've posted a thread about a road being unmovable or undeletable, even when doing "Delete Missing Assets". I'm thinking you may know of a way to do it. The thread is here:
Road Undeletable. If you like, I can also send you the route and see if you can do anything with it. This has been a problem since TRS2012 and nothing can seem to be done about it!! ARGH!! Thank you sir for any help!

Dino beat me to it. He says to use the copy-paste tool, which is located under the Tools menu on the lefthand side.

Select a blank area on a baseboard.
Deselect the baseboard height, scenery-objects, and textures. Leave the splines enabled.

Take the copied area and paste that over your roads. Make sure you put the area right on top of the spline points. This will remove those roads.

I ran into the same thing with some really, really old track from a ca. 2005 route I was cleaning up.

same problem but with atls xings. to remove the crossing add a spline point (circle) on the road and track. remove the road and track then the track the the leftover road crosses the the road. the invisible track is easy and is the black and white cross. the blue trackmark and track is not so easy. HOWEVER the rebuild database with control after you finished with all the crossing the track mark and track should be gone. i have and still am using trc. easier but boring. the only problem with trc is long trains the gates come up too soon. change the values on the red arrow but mostly live with it.
now . how do you speed up the environment loading to view new asset? also how to add grid that is not green instead of the grid?
thanx. glad to see JCitron still plugging away and helping us.

Thank you for the kind words, EJB.

For the blank grid-only baseboards, you can replace the region with some on the DLS that are grid-only. The grid is a texture that is replaced by the grass texture. The grid-only regions substituted the grid for the grass.

The alternative is to select the grid texture in the texture pallet. Set the texture size to the smallest and then paint the baseboard or fill the baseboard.

Do you know of a good way to restore the grid as the default default texture for new routes? I.E., make it so that new routes are created with that already the default texture.

I think the only way is to be sure to pick a region file that is set for the old grid. Maybe someone can clarify. I see these regions as all the regions listed under "All Content" in CM for TRS19Sp5. Some say grid, some say std grid, some say TRS19 grid. Are "TRS19 grid" the new green texture and others the old grid?

Thank you. I think that my best bet is to make my own region asset using one or more of those as a guide. As for default defaults, if there is a solution that works for Trainz22PE 123801, but not below, it ought to work for me.

I don't have experience with all of them but the ones I have tried by pware and Christopher824 have the plain grid surface. The config.txt of the region has a default-texture tag that accepts the kuid of a groundtexture as the default texture for new baseboards. As far as I can tell, simply changing the kuid of the default-texture to the old grid is all that is needed to make any region use the old grid.
