In Windows 7, What is this?

Getting Older :)
Hi,

I have not seen this before as I can not normally see the folders most likely for this reason :hehe:. In the image below the icon next to the name Nowra that looks like a "locked" folder, how do you open it and apply those settings across Windows 7? It will not normally show in the folder structure even though I knew it was there (somewhere). I only stumbled on this view while looking for something else.

Any help would be appreciated.

I did not set up the OS system but I am in Administrator mode. My Folder options at the moment are set up to display hidden folders/files etc. I thought by doing that these folders would show up but they do not.

Must be something I am not understanding in W7 yet.

Do you still have UAC turned on?

Yes, set to maximum until I finish installing programs and updating them on the new computer.

If you are going to disable UAC you need to do it from the start not after you've installed programs.

around the 23th response there is a little guide on setting up Windows 7, I suggest you read through it.

Take a look at this guide and the section “The Real Administrator Account” -
