Change color of text on Surveyor 1.0 rulers?

Is it possible to change color of text on Surveyor 1.0 rulers? White text on light-colored ground textures is hard for me to see.

I have never come across any way of changing the default text color for rulers. But I am always prepared to learn "new stuff".

I tried this workaround - go to "Edit Environment" and make it darker so that I can see the rulers and text, and it worked.
