Downloaded it today, but not had much time to run with it.
I find the roads are a bit fiddly to get in to the right direction.
I don't know how esay this is going to be for a child?
But I found it bit frustrating and the tune had me reaching for the volume controls after ten minutes.
As far as I could tell, there did not seam any way of making a junction.
I hope I'm wrong here and just not found out how to make one yet.
The trick with roads is to turn rotating off, then use the picker and place a bunch which will all point in the same direction.
As for junctions, maybe later - we have other products for train drivers, and this one is more for train crashers.
Also, the beta period is now over, so you can check out the full product at Google Play this week, and coming to iOS hopefully next week. We have also decided that the business model will be free to play plus in app purchases (and no ads).
