I downloaded some dem maps by fishlipsatwork and snooze the other day. I have almost completed one of the routes smooz created which was started in 2014 with 12 and moved to Tane with a few problems but nothing serious. My problem is the new routes I downloaded have no grid, no contours and when zoomed in go white. Anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

Open for edit in explorer and ensure the .map .bmk .trk and .obs files are all named mapfile.***, submit edits and reopen. You should then see your terrain..

Yes what Graeme says works.

The easiest way to ensure those files are there is to open the route in TS12 SP1 HF4 (build 61388), and do a save-as before exporting out. Using this method, I took a ca. 2005 TRS2004 route into T:ANE without any problems other than really bad route building!
