Another Pic of the new NS Southern posted.

But... right behind it in the background is another of what
appears to be a fresh paint job of a blue locomotive lettered
NW.

The unit number is 1776

Can't tell much about it. Detail just isn't there, but any
idea what we are looking at here?

Though NS's Southern Heritage unit got most of the press, the N&W Bicentennial SD45 #1776 was rolled out of the paint shop the same day the "Southern 8099" was. 1776 belongs to the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke. She's lookin' brand new; good job NS / Chattanooga Diesel Shop!!

Thanks qassaquyangli... that awnsers the question.

Interestingly, nobody seems to know if the 20 cylinder prime
mover is still installed.

Beautiful paint job. If all the NS heritage units match that
quality they are going to be quite a site.

1776 does not have a prime mover or traction motors. it cannot move under its own power (because there is no power).

She still has her primer mover, but no traction motors to speak of.
