A Route from Enzo1

Offends by example
I figured it was time to stop spamming all the other threads with shots of my route, so here we are! A thread to call my own!
I figured we'd show off from East-West for the progress so today we are starting around the Power station Wye.

UP 679 leads 3 other EMD's on a Sand train towards Irish City yard to pick up the relief crew that will drive this train to the sand loadout.

However, there is opposing traffic, so this means they will tie down onto the siding until such traffic passes.

First train up is a Manifest Extra. Today's power is 2 ES44AC's and some pool power from our Mexican friends, Ferromex in the form of an SD70ACe

Our Manifest extra continues past the old steam-age water tower that is the relic remaining from these days.

Our next train is a CP Auto train. Today's power is a couple SD40-2's including one out on lease to CP from CEFX.

Time for that sand train to Highball out of the hole!

Our final train is an interchange train headed back East towards where ever it came from. Today's power is an EMD GP35 and GP15

The next day, we decided to visit the Irish City Railyard. This is a pretty kool place! :)

Just some basic looks at the yard and of course two units belonging to the Irish Co-Op Railway

Now it's time to actually get some work done. We get to see the daily Interchange train pulling into east end of the yard.

This crew's job is nearly done pulling towards a stop on the very last yard track.

Once this train is at a halt and the crew is off the train, it's time for Irish Co-Op Railway's EX CNW GP30 and WAMX GP50 to get to work. Their first job is to de-couple the SD50 and SD40-2 and couple them to a fellow SD40-2 sitting with a string of Ethanol cars awaiting pick-up later that day.

Once that job is done, well ehhh... The yard is a bit of an unsorted mess, and there is a manifest train coming to pick things up along with dropping off cars. There is also another local train coming into drop stuff off for pickup for that manifest as well. This means they get the honors of sorting the yard out! Let's get to work!
Good thing we have special permissions to be here from the yard master.... I would hate to be the person doing what the sign says not to do.

Stay tuned to see more yard operations in action. It's pretty awesome :)

Looks like an interesting route, Enzo :)

My guess is that you are planning to post more pictures; could you take a few from a bit higher up? Curious about the yard layout and stuff like that :)

Yes of course I can take a few aerial shots so you can see the layout a bit. Currently shown is the powerstation Wye area, CP Power-station wye (That is the siding near the power-station wye) and the yard.
Thank you for your suggestion as well, as reference now, I will take a couple aerial shots of the layout so that it can be seen as well. :)

Look at that sign closely, it has some funny text on it.
It does. I'd still hate to be the person breaking the law though LOL! :hehe:

Well, i guess i'm the first to say what a beautiful route this is, Chris! Definitely a thread i will be watching.
Thanks my fellow clone Chris! FYI: If you're name is Chris, I'm just going to call you a clone LOL!!! Glad you've taken interest into it seriously :)
Really glad you all have, because that makes this project a bit more exciting to work with knowing I have people that are watching so that they can see what the route looks like and etc. etc. etc...... Currently only completed areas are being shown, but the route does grow a slight amount everyday (Most of the current work as of late has to do with scenery stuff... Ehhh that stuff can be painful after a while LOL!!!) I'm taking a wild guess and saying the actual mainline not including 2 branches is 30 miles or so in length.

And as always,
Happy New Year,
OH and have fun!
Chris/Enzo1 :)

As per request of Oknotsen, I have some higher up shots so he can see some layout stuff.

First up is the power-station wye and CP power-station wye!

Resuming where we had left off, our EX CNW GP30 and GP50 get straight to work sorting out a single gon first.

This gon is attached to the previous interchange train. While this train is currently unsorted, it will be sorted out later for the next day's interchange train.

To keep from being too repetitive, we see these two units now sorting out a string of centerbeam flats.

This string of centerbeams is attached to another car cut that is to be pick-up to a manifest later that day...

That string of cars is sorted with another string of cars to be picked up by the same manifest train! What a mess the yard was today!

Now it's time to start moving these cars to the cut-out track so that they can be picked up!

Nice work Chris good too see ya started your own thread to showcase your work so keep at it mate.
Cheers Mick.

Jumping back to where we had left off... That other local train has finally pulled in! It's lead by WAMX GP50 #5002.

He's running a bit behind, so it is time for him to get straight to work. The first few cars of the train are to be cut-off and moved to the cut-out track for pick-up!

It just happens to be that while we were watching, an expedited train pulls in for a crew change with a surprise!

A splendid Early June night of 1994... We catch a run of the CNW "Midnight Special"
Seen here is CNW C44-9W #8635 pulling a boss lash-up heading into West-Front

Another one of the Drone-Shots (Ehhh, a bit out-of place since they didn't have public drones in '94)....

Stay tuned as we will see some more shots of the special on it's 32.5 mile run from end-to-end.

Back in the day, BN coal trains used to also service the Powerstation at Irish City. Strong Storms were not uncommon as well. Seen here Circa Late August of 1992 is a BN coal train

Headed for Irish City through the small quiet community of West-Front... Still got the Diamond Back grades to traverse...
