2010 and ECML save

Can anyone help please?
When trying to save a scenario in ECML, every time without fail the game freezes up, so unable to save progress of game! Does anyone have any advice please?

Are you sure it's actually 'freezing' and not just 'taking a long time'?

The ECML route is HUGE (i don't know? probably somewhere around 300 miles of route all together?), and it's session settings will also be huge - it can take up to 30 minutes on a reasonably fast PC to save the route, for example.

It wouldn't surprise me if it took ~5 minutes to save a session. And trainz is going to sit there and say 'Not responding' all the while it's doing that
