Swapping track on a map

Ok, This might sound dumb but here goes:

So, I have a save of tidewater point from an old trainz version that I spent a lot of time on. When I tried to import it into Trs19 things got really wonky however the original route looks amazing on Trs19. I'm wondering if there is any way to swap the trackage from my old save onto the Trs19 route so I don't have to redo all the trackwork again? As it stands right now the save I imported has no color at all.

You can use the Bulk Asset Update and Replace Tool. There are some tracks it will not work on but it did work on the tracks that came with an old TRS2004/2006 route I imported into TRS19. And you are correct, a lot of older routes look amazingly better in TRS19 than they did in their original versions.

There is a Trainz Wiki page on using the Bulk Asset Update and Replace Tool at http://online.ts2009.com/mediaWiki/index.php/How_to_Use_Bulk_Asset_Update/Replace_Tool

You will need to be a bit more specific. Are you trying to import a save game, a session, or importing a route. I also don't know what you mean by "no colour at all". Why would you need to redo your track if you have imported it? The answer could be as simple as firing up the Bulk Asset Update/Replace Tool and choosing an appropriate TRS19 track, but I don't have enough to go on.
Please elaborate
cheers
Graeme

I'm trying to import a route. I had tidewater point from Trs2004 and added more track to that version. I wanted to import that trackwork into the one that works in 19(kuid2:9000:100341:1)
Here is the CDP of the map I tried to import. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6szzcmas7j42dxr/test map.cdp?dl=0

To import the route from TRS2004 you need to rename the route-related files

From:

route-name.bmk
route-name.Gnd
route-name.Obs
Route-name.trk

to
mapfile.bmk
mapfile.gnd
mapfile.obs
mapfile.trk

Once done, you should be able to import the route fine.

Ok. I went into trs2004 and did the file name change as recommended and when I imported it into 19 nothing showed up. It was literally empty space. Here is the second try https://www.dropbox.com/s/sq6msbq2o6haypc/2nd test.cdp?dl=0

Very odd that this wouldn't work.

PM me the link for the unmodified route. I would like to take a look at it. Perhaps there's something I can do with it for you.

Open the route for edit in CM in TRS19 to change the file names then submit changes.

I just looked at his route. The files are named as they should be, but there's nothing; just open white sky. I went as far as to merge the route into another blank route and still nothing.

Thanks for the report. I can confirm importing directly into TRS19 fails. Importing into TANE and resaving, then exporting that into TRS19 works fine.

It's still a bug we'll look into bu for now that's the workaround. (May also work with saving in TS12).

That's great but I don't have TRS 12 or TANE LOL.

I hope you fix that bug soon so I can import my other maps into 19 :)
