Boolean Search/Replace

Hi all. What follows may seem long-winded but i'm trying to explain as it forms in my head

I have a need for a search/replace utility that can utilise Boolean. An example is i need to replace all instances of (x.xx, x.xx, xx) - random floating point and integer numbers- in many different files within several sub-folders with (0.20, 0.01, 81). I tried DOS but i cannot get the syntax right (my attempt - ren /s not (0.80, 0.01, 20) (0.20. 0.01, 80)), so if every found instance is 'not' (0.80, 0.01, 20), then replace it with (0.20, 0.01, 80). I admit to not being a DOS afficionado

Sorry that it's not explained better.

Hi John. I hope all is well. I tried both and neither appear to allow Boolean operations.

Thanks for the links anyway.

Hi Barry,

I'm hanging in there one day at a time. It looks like I'll be a pensioner at 51. I try to stay busy that's all I can do, otherwise I nap.

There are some other editors out there that allow for expressions.

Here's one I used in a programming class a few years ago.

Hi John. I'll have a look at the editor and see if it can do the job. It's quite frustrating that something so simple has so far eluded my efforts.

Ahhh naps. I tell my wife they are 'Power Naps' Lol.

Keep well

Regards
