I should mention I'm running a stock Compaq Presario CQ-62-219 (only upgraded ram to 8gb) and until I start throwing really detailed loco's at it she runs like a champ, sketchy when you start to actually run trains but she'll do ok on some of the older routes, I do plan on building me a Trainz/audio production based computer, actually looking to dual boot win 7 and Lion (don't start a flame war both are good at what they were designed to do) the big issue is finding components that will work with both :/ any help on that matter should be sent to my inbox as to keep this clear of stuff that's related to me not the original poster.Doubtful that any low end spec $ 700 desktop would run Trainz, unless it is an @ $ 800+ machine (USD) that is intended for gaming, unless you retrofit a low end PC, or rebuild one.
A good video card, and a fast CPU is the key.
