Frisco 1522 Whizzing past a...Wendy's

This is making me hungry.

Here's a few shots from my East Broad Top RR route - very much a work in progress. Even though all the track has been layed on a fairly accurate terrain based on 10m DEMs of the area, the only scenery so far on the route is around the towns of Rockhill Furnace and Orbisonia where the EBT's general offices, shop complex and 2nd largest yard are located. The large wye located there is also the start of the Shade Gap Branch.

For those not familiar with the EBT RR it was a 3 ft narrowgauge located in the Allegheny Mountains of south central Pennsylvania. With 32 miles of main line track it was a coal hauler in every sense in a very compact size. Initially in the 1870's it hauled coal and iron ore from mines to a iron furnace. It ended its revenue service in 1956 still hauling coal to a processing plant owned by the EBT and a type of scilica rock called ganister to brick factories in MT Union, PA. When the brick factories switched to other sources of fuel and trucks to haul the ganister, the EBT had to close. In 1960 it reopened as a tourist rr. It's now facing another challenging time with financial troubles that might finally mean the end. Though the immediate future is rather bleak maybe something can be worked out to keep it operating.

In the period I'm modeling (1920 - 1930 + ??) it had a small roster of 7 steam locos and 1 gas-electric motorcar. That roster included a single class of 1 2-6-2 praire no. 11 and 3 classes of 2-8-2 mikado type locos, nos 12 and 14 thru 18. The largest class held nos 16, 17 & 18. With 30600 lbs rated TE and 48 in drivers, they were built by Baldwin Locomotive Works between 1918 and 1920. Piston valves, superheated and with southern gear they were modern locos for their time. All 7 of the locos were of the so called deckless type. The cab was located at the rear of the loco with the driver's and fireman's seats along side the firebox which extended to the end of the cab. The fireman stoked the fire from the tender.

A few shots that didn't make it into my EBT thread or the NG thread:
