Timeout in High hills, Grandpa Jones and his sons watch 4-4-0 loading water, nearby a lonesome Banjo sounds over the Station. Pic in TRS 19, no other versions looks better....Grandpa Jones, Engineer agree:)

Signals where are the signals?

J-35 consolidation locomotive #48 approaches the eastern end of the junction passing the oil filling tank where the burly 4-8-4 Northern Locomotives stops to top of their tenders with oil, then the freight engine stops to fill it's own tender tank with water before rejoining the mainline, I guess someone in the office did not get the memo that it is dangerous for any steam engine running light to have no signals guarding both sides of the tracks should there be more steam trains present.

45 is Ben Neal's D&RGW C-48 with a few texture tweaks and re-lettered. Amazing how well this engine still looks and runs today. As a generic, maid-of-all-work 2-8-0 it's tough to top.

Thanks for the tip on this loco Smyers. I thought I'd collected most of Ben's wonderful models but had missed this one somehow.

You're right, with a tweak of the textures, it comes up very nicely indeed.

And it bear's a close enough family resemblance to K&L's wonderful model (and their SRC 90) that I can see it getting re-marked and joining the Eagle River fleet before too long. ;)

One question though. How do you get it to stop?? It just coasts forever (in DCC mode at least).

Great pix, Piere. Really, it compares favorably to more modern engines pretty well. I've also had trouble stopping. Usually I'm switching at very low speeds so I've just anticipated my stops. Try using the "A" key. I thought that was a stopping hot key. In cab mode you get train and independent brakes but it's much harder to drive. I wonder if there's anything in the engine spec file we can modify?

OK, Piere, I just changed the max-decel value in the engine spec file from 4500 to 9900. It seemed to make a difference. I may up it more. If you try this, be sure to remove the engine, save the session then go back and add the engine so Trainz will pick up the change.

Thanks for that tip Smyers (I've not been brave enough to even look at an engine spec before), that did make a difference.

The latest workhorses for the Eagle River fleet. :)
