Indeed, as I think is evidenced by his own pictures following. He kindly allowed me to give the asset a significant upgrade (including adding normal maps and some finishing details to the locomotive) as well as post images of the finished result. All things going well, I believe that it can be in the next release.
Some performance and script testing with the YVRR and ex-YVRR locomotives:
(22 did not enjoy her struggle up a 2% gradient with 440 tons. That's on the ragged edge of what a 4-4-0, even a modern one, can do.)

Yes, something has changed, as you put it. A few days ago, ANL asked me if he thought the late challengers were "almost ready for release" which caught me off-guard, but now Jackson is updating the textures on them in anticipation of possible release. It's not my model so I don't want to be definitive as to whether or not it will be in the next release, but it's up to my standards for finished content, at any rate.

What a good show! I'd dig those Challengers. They're right on par with the discontinued Challengers from NARM.
Pardon me if this seems brusque, but both ANL and myself did affirm this less than an hour ago in this same thread. Please read the comments following a picture if you are going to ask about said picture.
