I not sure where this thread should go, so I want to get this out of the way.:confused:

Are there any photographs of condemmed locomotives in america as well as photos of scrap trains in the u.s. that shows how steam engines that are moved to the scrap yard are moved with only their side rods and all that shows how condemmed locomotives look before going to the scrap yard as with rusty and worn out locomotives as well?

Cause I've only seen a few of them in europe.

Cause I'm thinking of modeling a few locomotives by making them look rusty and dirty with their side rods on to put together a scrap train or two.

If not, that fine.:)

There are lots of pictures of out-of-service locomotives on a Canadian site: The Canada Museum of Science and Technology at
http://www.images.technomuses.ca/?en/search/slc_optn/STR

For example see:
http://www.images.technomuses.ca/searchpf.php?id=225328&lang=en

This shows a loco with its headlight removed and main rod on the running board. Behind it is another similar loco. When locomotives were shipped to distant shops for maintenance the railways also removed the main roads but the lights would often be boarded-over (not removed) and the stack covered with rags lashed on. Also cabs might be protected.

Another example is:

Many moons ago a german gentleman made one or two rusty, partial steam engine bodies available.
(think -> old wrecked ones).
I have them amongst tons of stuffs and Ive forgotten their details.
Have you tried searching for "rusty" in content manager/download station perhaps?
