Show off your reskins!

Probably because I try to get the highest quality possible, not comply with people's agendas.

Nice work Jackson, your skins always seem to make a model look 10x better! The ALCo models are good, but dated, the updates to the textures make them look almost brand new again!

Is it at all possible to reskin equipment with clear .tgas, like Jointed Rails Pointe St Charles Caboose? It just shows as cear for the map and bump? Editing the map at all makes the caboose turn chrome-like? Thank you.

Damn ... I love gon trains ... every time one goes by my house it shakes the foundation, quaking the house, as they are the most abused, overloaded railcar, with permanently compressed springs, that sounds like a 100 thousand lb Radio Flyer wagon going by

Well, i'm now in the reskinning business. A reskin of prjindigo's SD40-2 into former BNSF 8039.

It's not perfect by any means, but i think it's all right looking. Never got the BNSF ex-BN SD40-2 that JointedRail once had before they retired, so...oh well.

Former Southern Railway GP-30 No 2561 now in use on the Pine Belt & Southern Shortline, revived with this SOU GP-30 and an ex-N&W 1776 inspired GP-30 No 1776.
These were very early skins, as why they are not as nice.

And unrelated (hence the separate post) ex-NYC Business Car 301 as Southern Railway No 400 'New River', W. Graham Claytor's private car.

On the first one I'd suggest drawing the door details on, and for the second one I'd make the door outlines a little more visible and the colors less bright. They are decent reskins overall though.

Oh these were terrible and will never see the light again, they were just representations, that route they were for is long since vapourware. Thank you for the tips though, if for some reason I ever do update them, I shall take those tips to make them better.

Another trick you could try is using a new layer, set it to additive. Make it white - light grey and toss it over black items such as the NW black. Then you set the paint above it on another layer set to multiply. Saves the baking and details.

A more recent reskin of mine, much better with photoshop and retaining the other layers, the GP-30s are from like 2014 or 2015. A few details are blocked out with green as they are personal names of friends.

This is the Southern Virginia (or Sylvan) Steam Green RS-1 from my screenshot entry. The loco wears Southern passenger paint with shed name under the number and TAG (Tennessee, Alabama, & Georgia) style naming, blocked out for privacy reasons. Numbered it to match with the New River, just so happened the Trainz RS-1 was the real loco's NYC livery number.

What-if Pullman Green to match the coaches, like EWS 73101 the electro-diesel in the UK matched.

Sitting with 400 in later Claytor livery.
