I bought Trainz 2006 several years ago which I didn't registered, and I just want to know whether the new Trainz 2010 is free for registered users of trainz 2009 or 2006 to download? Thank you!

TRS2010 is a completely seperate product, not merely an update, so you have to purchase it seperatley

In fairness to ChemRailFan... as pointed out a couple of months ago, the Wikipedia page on Trainz has been subtley defaced, and one of the defacements is that they've added a claim that trainz 2010 was a 'free download for registered trainz users'.

If only that were the case, eh? I'd also get Falcon 4.0 for free (I own Falcon 3.0) and I wouldn't have just paid £100 for Windows 7 because I own XP.
