Fatal Error at Launch..

Hello,
My first post here on the new forum. I was an orginal Trainz user and later UTC user. I had just purchased Trainz 2004 when our computer crashed and we had to manually reinstall everything. Now, about a year later, I want to reinstall Trainz 2004, and seem to be able to, but continually get this fatal error message when trying to launch the game:

Class: Hardware

Reason: Breakpoint

Exception @ 00359327 in C:\Program Files\Auran\Trainz\bin\KernelStandard.dll

Recoverable exception: Yes

EAX: FFF39D7C EBX: 00DDA2E4 ECX: 0039DC7 EDX: 00036220
ESP: 0013E9AC EBP: 00DDA2E4 ESI: 0013E9C8 EDI: 0013FC80

SS: 00000023 CS:EIP: 001B:00359327

Call Stack:

00359327 - 00000001(+28327) C:\Program Files\Auran\Trainz\bin\KernelStandard.dll

I have uninstalled and reinstalled trainz 2004 several times as well as trying both UTC and my original Trainz CDs and all seem to install fine, then when I launch any of these, I get the same error message as above.
Any help with figuring out what I am missing here would be greatly appreciated. My computer is an HP Pavilion 750n with 1.6 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 80 GB hard drive, 32 MB nVidia TNT2 M64 graphics card with 32MB SDRAM. Thanks alot.

I had this problem Rusty & it was resolved by Right click on TRS2004 icon & from list select PROPERTIES. You then see selections & select COMPATABILITY & try selection RUN IN WINDOWS98 & save. This should let you into the TRS2004 & solve the problem. Good Luck, John

Wow, I forgot to post up that TRS2006 and TS2009 has crashed on me when I was trying to launch the Auran Trainz Launcher. So TRS2006 wasn't working on me after I have been shutting my PC device off incorrectly, but everytime I turn off my PC device incorrectly, TRS2006 and TS2009 will crash on me every time I do that.

@Rustyrex76 does your trainz games crashes on you when you turn off your PC device whenever the PC screen isn't responding? 'Cause that happens to me a lot.
