    Hey all,

    Some videos

    https://youtu.be/2GVTkmalLpQ

    https://youtu.be/AUiXVv7RhCY

    https://youtu.be/CTN07sR6JNo

This was supposed to be 4'6" radius but the shop sold me the wrong one and gave me 4'0" radius I'm going to change the radius to 5'6" which will bring it close to the concrete as it's 12'0" wide, then I'll dig up the yard to build a real track bed.

    Cheers.

Earlier in the week, I was given some trains.

It is the rolling stock from the 1977 Tyco 'Chattanooga Choo Choo' set, minus the 'Old Dutch Cleanser' hopper which I hope to track down.
(If anyone has one they would like to be rid of, please message me)

I've heard a lot about Tyco trains being rubbish and also that they still have no value, but I could not say 'No' to free trains.
(Even if said trains are not in my era or region of interest)

It actually runs surprisingly well after a clean, though it needs some oil. And the interior light in the locomotive works! I just hope it doesn't turn out to have a '40 hour lifespan' as I've heard some do....

That is funny, looking at the old American household product names. I'd imagine those were not so common over in your area.

Nope, they're still nearly as common here as they are over there. Well, maybe not Tyco themselves, though. Bachmann, Athearn and ones like that are. Still doesn't help the fact that if anything Tyco does come up, it's usually fairly undesirable. I doubt I could sell these items for much and that I would be hard-pressed to even give them away - not that I plan to get rid of them.

What you'll also find a lot of at 2nd hand stalls and swapmeets over here is Tri-ang rolling stock, which is probably more common here than it is in the US.

    Oh, those.

No, they've never been found here and probably never will be....

    Sorry for the small misunderstanding.

It's kind of funny at around 0:26, seeing US rolling stock and locos go past European buffers.

I've recently acquired this post-war Lionel Hudson 2046 from 1950 from a relative, along with the rest of the set which has multiple freight cars, track, and a transformer. It had all been packed away in the basement of my great grandparents' house for thirty years until recently when I was able to dig them back out. After a little cleaning and lubrication they run about as good as when they were new. There is also another set with two Alco 2023 diesels and three streamline passenger cars from 1951, which also run very well and are in good condition.

I recently acquired some goods wagons for my model railway. There's two Tri-ang vans, one Tri-ang open wagon, one 1980s Hornby Railways 14T tanker in Esso livery, and one of the ubiquitous Tri-ang brake vans. They are being hauled by my Hornby 3F tank locomotive, which I recently worked on and got it running spectacularly in forward and reverse - and to think it wasn't running backwards well when I bought her for $40 last year!

The goods wagons were acquired in a trade with a gentleman in the United States.

Dragonhart, I post this with the least amount of intended offense possible. But what works in Warhammer 40K works in Trains as well.

And here's a video, showing the goods wagons pictured in my last post, in slightly better detail:
