Union pacific 428 will run again

after 50 years of sleeping, C-57 class 2-8-0 consolidation locomotive #428 is nearly completed and will rule the rails again,I don't know on how long this process is going to take but all I know is that she will be back and the Illinois railroad museum is working very hard to make sure that happens!

We'll see about that.

MRM's Southern 401 has taken 15 years to restore next year, each year that target date goes up one number, it is a long process and a lot of money.

Can IRM do it?
Yes, if they put forth the effort I think they could within the next 5-10 years.
However, remember they make a lot of money...they spend a lot too.
