You can just tell blender to make it transparent using the alpha z mask in the material setting.
Why not use a 'notex'?
A notex has exactly the color you assign to it, same with opacity.
Example, all notex (except the track), not a single map:

I don't recommend notex since you can't weather it, or alter the colors without re-exporting. Even glass you should have a texture because it gets dirty, and old glass (specifically float glass) may be wavy or have bubbles suspended in it. I use a 128x128 for most of my windows.
