Just a side note:

I have a problem with Rizky's Ginza Line 01 series:

When i select it, it does not appear in the thumbnail nor if i click on the track.

Whereas with any other train (for example the Minatomirai Line Y500 series) the train correctly appears in the prewiew and on the track if clicked.

It seems to happen only with both units of the 01 series (motor-cab and trailer). I've tried to un-install and reinstall it various times but it does not work.

Has anyone had similar problems?

I will look into it when I have the time .

I've checked the config file and I think this one mistake is the cause of problems.
open the config.txt of 01. next, you'll find that the description tag doesn't have any words inside,
Remove it or add some random description like "01 ginza line blablabla" or something you like.
save the config.txt then commit.

Hope this work.

It didn'work, but i still have managed to solve the problem in a rather unorthodox way: cloning the KuHa of a Tokyu 5000 series (your model) and replacing each file (except the config) with those of the 01 series, and it worked!

Therefore the problem is certain to be in the config, and i suspect, it's a dependencies obsolescence issue:

The interior wiew of the 01 series is the "gen1960op" from the very early versions of trainz. Therefore in some trainz versions (i use TS12 SP1) it can be listed as "obsolete" and locked out of use (like a faulty asset). The problem is that there is no way to know wich dependencies are out-of-use because the content manager does not recognise the obsolete ones as out-of-use, so an asset with obsolete dependencies is not shown with the name colored red (of the unusable assets) but still it is unable to be picked.

Glad to hear they're finally work.
It seems some next freewares need to be tested to earlier version of trainz before release.

A good lineup at what could be Nakano depot... these reskin will be part of the next pack...

I'm surprised that Japan still have the 7100 class American Import. Also, if the maker for the C62 was here, I was wanting to ask about having the C62 on DLS?:)

Webbk, about your Winter in Japan Route, it's a very nice winter wonderland that could be made into a model railroad. I cloned my copy and made a personal 3ft 6in version of it for the big collection of Japanese steamers we have on the DLS by the artist keimei.

Nice work kuro! Did the multi-color 103 run also on the Chuo-Sobu line? Because i have a photo dated 16/5/1987 showing a green 103 with yellow coaches running side-by-side with a yellow 201 series near Ochanomizu.

Also here are some new reskins, based on rizky's nice Tokyo Metro 01 series:

A bit of introduction before:

Following the construction of the Hanzomon line, TRTA looked to renovate it's older lines: Ginza, Marunouchi, Hibiya and Tozai.

Especially the Ginza Line, wich had the oldest stock (all dating between 1949 to 1958, with some units even from 1934!), making the newest train atleast 20 years old. Moreover, these were designed to be technically compatible and operable in multiple (therefore sharing identical equipment, motors and controls) with the original 1000 series dating back to the line opening (in 1927!), making them absurdly obsolete for the eraly 1980s!

TRTA 01 Series - Ginza Line (Early Production Set).

The 01 series was then introduced. At the time it was cutting edge, with new improvements for passengers such as an analogue route direction indicator above the doors (wich was still used as of 2017), precursor of modern above-door LCD screens, and a 3-tone door opening and closing chime, wich became subseqent standard on all subway trains and was the first of it's kind not only in Tokyo, but in whole Japan.
It also had less visible but more audible improvements: a 3-note melodical GTO chopprer control, subsequently used in the 02, 03 and 05 series sets.

Initially these trains were also predisposed for air-conditioning, but due to the small size of the Ginza line's tunnel, new, very small air conditioning units had to be developed with a lenghty process, being fitted to the trains between 1990 and 1995.
In the meantime, between 1984 and 1990 the 01 series traveled with provisional air intakes, similar to those found on older stock.

Trivia:

In 1980 the Ginza Line was said to be precieved by the pubblic as "old fashoned", therefore the new stock was given a radically different appearance from exitsting trains following the ideas of "functionality", "brightness" and "chic".

TRTA / Tokyo Metro 01 series (refurbishment of existing skin)

GinzaLine1379.jpg

With the air conditioning units being fitted to the trains between 1990 and 1995, they became a familiar face for many Tokyoites, wich were used to ride in old, rumorous stock reminescent of New York's IRT, now replaced by shiny, silent and swift modern stock, a welcome sight for both passengers and crews, wich now had a more spacious and comfortable cab to work in. It was, suprisingly enough, well recieved even by hardcore "old always better than new" railway enthusiasts.

The old mixture of stock was phased out in two times: most (1200,1300,1400,1600,1700,1800,1900 and some 1500s) were phased out in 1986/87 and the remaining (all of the 1500s and the 2000s) were retired (not without a bit of ceremony) in 1993.

The 01 series was replaced by the new 1000 series by the late 2010s, with the last 01 set (set 30) being withdrawn on 31 March 2017.

Trivia:

Initally both the 01 and 02 series trains did not carry any logo at all. This is because these trains did not have trough-running services (the Ginza and Maronouchi lines are self-enclosed) and therefore they did not have to be distinguished by other companies' trains.
All the other TRTA trains (such as the Chiyoda line's 6000 series) carried a well-visible "S-arrow" logo on the front and the sides.
This changed in 2004, when the newly formed Tokyo Metro applied what is literally a sticker with it's "M-Heart" logo on all trains.

Tokyo Metro 01 series - Ginza Line 80th anniversary revival colors

2008metoro01.jpg

In 2007, Tokyo Metro organized a special "revival color train" to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Ginza Line.
Set 17 was repainted in an all-body yellow with a brown roof, reminescent of the original 1000 series.

The initiative was so well liked by evryday passengers, that they surprisingly took interest in the idea of running an actual replica train. This idea was later the principal driving force behind the design of the new 1000 series introduced in 2012, with it's design based on original 1000 series trains, and with the last delivered units even more closely resembling the original 1000 series (down to the single headlight and replica wood panels!)

Trivia:

This "revival color train" was based on an older idea of TRTA, wich in 1997 (for the 70h anniversary of the line's opening) repainted only the Asakusa-end KuHa of set 22 (01 622) into the original 1000 series yellow color, and was also applied the fake number of 1006.

TRTA / Tokyo Metro 01 series - "U-Liner"

fh0100142.jpg

The U-Liner was a pubblicitary initiative by TRTA, kinda "spoof" of other companies' adverts (a "Liner" is usually a quite fast and sometimes exclusive limited express service, wich were commonly advertized in the mid-1990s), by sort-of-saying "Hey! You are not the only ones to have "Liners"! come and see!".

The idea was later replied by TRTA itself on a Marunouchi line 02 series set, and then seemingly repeated by Tokyo Metro.

Apart from this, information (such as operation dates) and photos (especially sidewiews) are vey scarce.

End of part 1

hmm i don't know yet. but so far, i think it is only serving the yamanote (or even the documented archieves on the interweb are mostly about this line! @@). So maybe uhh we can find somebody to explain to us better :hehe: geez i wasn't even born yet at the moment :hehe:
but it is fun to see how the set seemingly create colorful cacophony:p
