I really need to know where these photo's were taken ... None of these areas are even in existence today, and little documentation exists

Both are listed as being east Altoona yard ?
This shot is said to be from the coal docks themselves

A view from the coal dock at East Altoona reveals active and stored steam. John had permission from a high-up in the PRR to roam East Altoona,
From the map , I believe this to be looking west . With the 8th street bridge in the far background

I'll say one thing here, those pictures are something to behold, and the Track laying, what a puzzle they made, but It sure looks like they did there best to conserve space while trying too maintain capacity........

WOW........Thanks for sharing folks.

Thanks for the compliment, Matt.
The Phots you show are full of detail, thanks for sharing them.

OK the coal docks was just EAST of the Engine complex . But The photo doesn't seem to match the track diagram of this map ?

Which is an enlargement of the East yard engine complex ? In my opinion the location is just east of this map near 17 .Yet another shot said to be from the docks .

This has this caption : Again from the coal wharf, A passenger track ducks under the westbound hump at MP 233. This tunnel was removed in the mid-1990s for the clearance project.
