Having downloaded the locomotive pictured, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by it's intricate detail and complexity. This however becomes something of a problem as I cannot read Russian and I am not very familiar with the operation of Russian locomotives. Could you please explain to me how I am to properly operate this one?:)

THE INSTRUCTION ON DRIVING OF THE LOCOMOTIVE OF SERIES ЧС4

The given model is equipped by two systems of safety - АЛСН and САУТ.

Mode "the Kind from a cabin"
We translate the chamber to the left, the basic controls by the locomotive there are concentrated.
On controls there are emerging helps in Russian.
Familiarise with them attentively! Locomotive reduction in a working condition:

1) we Include "Management".
2) we Include "Pantograph".
3) It is included "Компрессор1".
4) "the Electric Brake" Is included.
5) It is included "Radio station".
6) It is included "САУТ".
7) we Include "Fans"

Process of start of the locomotive is displayed by corresponding alarm lamps.
Locomotive reduction in movement:

1) we Put the backspacing handle in a working condition.
2) we Put the handle of the crane 395 in the first position.
3) we Charge a highway to 5.7 атм and we put the crane handle in the second (поездное position).

There will be not a big dump of pressure in a highway.
Locomotive movement:

- Movement in mode АЛСН:

Mode АЛСН works at disconnected switch "САУТ".
At movement in mode АЛСН there is a periodic check of vigilance of the machinist.
For a release of the handle of vigilance press also what that time keep a blank.
Vigilance check is carried out at all indications of a locomotive traffic light.
In mode АЛСН there are two verification modes of speed.
1) At movement on the red indication of a travelling traffic light do not exceed speed 60km/ch.
2) At passing of a forbidding signal do not exceed speed 20km/ch.
At excess of the specified speed there is a failure of a self-locking device (instant).

- Movement in mode САУТ:

At movement in mode САУТ the speech informant duplicates a voice of the indication of a locomotive traffic light and as duplicates some office information.
Vigilance check in mode САУТ single - at change of indications of a locomotive traffic light.
When the informant says the information on a signal - press also what that time keep a blank.
At the pressing admission, in seven seconds will work signal ЭПК.
At the admission of pressing signal ЭПК there is a self-locking device failure.
Restrictions of speed of movement in mode САУТ:

At the green indication of a locomotive traffic light 140km/ch.
At the yellow indication of a locomotive traffic light 80km/ch.
At the red-yellow indication of a locomotive traffic light 30km/ch.
At the red indication of a locomotive traffic light 20km/ch.
At the white indication of a locomotive traffic light 50km/ch.
The given speeds are stitched (not changed) and are displayed in the digital form on the block of indication САУТ.
At excess of the specified speed there is a draught dump, with not possibility of the further set. While speed does not become below the indication specified on the block.
Locomotive stop:
- Management of locomotive brakes:

1) we Translate the crane handle on two, three seconds in the fifth position.
2) it is Then translated in position four (reroof).
3) we Release brakes position one, after highway gymnastics, we put in position two.
At the included switch "Electric Brake" of crane position are displayed
Corresponding lamps on a control panel.
- Brake holiday, a lamp "C".
- Braking, a lamp "T".
- A reroof, a lamp "П".

At braking for the speed above 40km/ch there is an inclusion of fans (quickly) and the alarm lamp "ву.тормоз" is lighted.
Protection against wrong actions:

At attempt to get under way from a place at switched off switch "Management" - there will be a draught dump.
At attempt will get under way from a place at switched off switch "Fans" - there will be a draught dump.
The corresponding mode is displayed by a lamp "Protection" on a control panel.
At correct actions, the lamp "Protection" does not burn.
Locomotive reductions in not a working condition:

1) to Dump controller positions.
2) to Put the backspacing handle in neutral position.
3) to Switch off "Компрессор1"
4) to Switch off "Management"
5) to Lower a pantograph.
Journey of a neutral insert:


1) to Switch off "Компрессор1"
2) to Put a backspacing in neutral position.
3) to Switch off "Management"


At passing of a neutral insert to repeat operations upside-down.
 
New RENFE Coaches by STR

A DB BR 01 is pulling a rare RENFE DDT-8085 in a international train somewhere in the late sixties. They accidently left the pantograph up, due to the fact that the DB crew is not familiar with this type of car. :confused: Making this a rather strange sight.
