It is these days, but whether or not that was it's original purpose I don't know. That line was electrified in 1960.Is that girder for the electrics? Looking really good bud, good proportions all round.
6.25kV initially, according to this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Clyde_Line#ElectrificationThe girder is for the catenary. I can’t remember if it was 25kV or 6.25kV AC but the suburban “blue train” class 303s ran those lines extensively
