UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Time to show off, against my own rules, but hey, maybe I should lift the ban for once.

Left is the refurb version of the railbus to the right. Only one was made and is in the state of the one to the left. I just wanted to refurbish it a bit. A drastic and impossible refurbishment as the interior has got partitions by the doors, new seats and luggage racks, as well as routing the exhaust by the body. It hasn't escaped the sprinter mods either! (purely fictional refurbishment, but something I'd love to carry out on RB002.)

To wind 159james up and a few others that want a 150 and a 142 :)

There are a few errors to sort out sadly, one being the bogies, the others the door and the final one, is the specular highlight colour, which I cannot trace what is causing the offset colour on the underframe or the body.

Where did you get the class 150?

Just a few from me to showcase Peter Hicks' excellent new Mk2f's which I'm running with Nexusdj's reskinned Mk1 BG and catering vehicles - they don't look too bad as a stop-gap measure. :p

Deltic 55004, Queen's Own Highlander, brings in the 07.47 "Leeds Executive" for Kings Cross into platform 5 at Ancaster Eastgate...
Ancaster-LeedsExecutive1.jpg

During its 2 minute stay on platform 5, a container train from Healey Mills to Barrow runs through the up goods line behind an unidentified class 37...
Ancaster-LeedsExecutive2.jpg

The deltic storms away from platform 5, rapidly overhauling the container train as they both head towards Ancaster East Junc. just through the tunnel.

Many thanks to Peter for these great new carriages (and to Nexus - your Mk1 reskins aren't redundant quite yet!)

Fabulous screenies Paulsw2, attention to detail is excellent, good thing it isn't Birmingham New Street, 'cos that bloke couldn't have a ciggie otherwise.....:hehe:

Mine is from London Liverpool St, mind the doors please.......

G'day all,

Just sent a layout to the DLS, titled LYNTON AND BARNSTAPLE MODEL RAILWAY (not all in caps lock, though). It's based on an article in (I think) either the Model Railway Constructor or Railway Modeller, June '82 edition. Not sure, though. Anyway, it's based on Blackmoor Gate and Lynton stations. Between the two is a quarry sit (overgrown), but most of the machinery and buildings are there. Just further up the line is a hotel, The Anchor Inn. Here the line crosses a lane that leads up to the hotel (I like to think of it as my Fawlty Towers! ) Past that is the yard at Lynton. There is a small three-track fiddle yard just past Blackmoor (as if you were heading on to Barnstaple). The layout has workign signals and is extremely detailed. Try to spot the mad stallion and its owner! :D There is also and overgrown castle in there somewhere...

Some pics of the route:-

I wasn't joking about the stallion and its owner-

Well this is the 1970s after all when smoking was almost obligatory! ;)

errrrr, well as a smoker myself Paul, I couldn't possibly comment......I set fire to my office once when I worked on the railway. Forgot to ensure all the nub ends were out before I emptied the ashtray into a waste paper basket, boy, did I get it in the neck.....

Here's a great screenie from Perchpole's Class 46 cab, most drivers I knew were always chuffing away, worse than steam locos some of them. I cannot quite read the name on the fag packet, I don't think there Rothmans, might be Embassy Blue, or John Players No.6.....:hehe:
