UK Screenshots (Hi Res Version)

Yes, I can confirm it is Michael Whiteley's cab from the class 24 that comes with the SnC add-on. If you've got SnC, you should have the cab!

Paul

Version 45 of the cab is the one included in TANE payware S&C .
The TS12 version could be a lower number ?
(I no longer have S&C installed in TS12 so I can't check) .

Version 43 of the cab is the one I see in TS12.

Thanks for the info :)

Looks like the loco's will need re-uploading with the cab entries amended to version 43 to correspond with the loco's Trainz build .

As a footnote I'm still building in TS12 as the error checking in that is mostly tighter than TANE (At the moment) , If it's error free in TS12 builds 3.5 or 3.7 then it should have no problems in TANE.
When released TANE was a nightmare as it was super strict with error checking (flagging lower builds such as 1.3 red etc) but subsequent builds seemed to have dumbed-down error checking .

Case in point : Asset filename is a valid config tag in TANE for build 3.5/3.7 but flags red faulty in TS12 !?

Re. class 24/25 cab - this is the version Gary uploaded (with my reskin), so I'm not going to re-upload. It's a simple config entry change, so I'll post this on my release thread for this asset.

Would someone like to post a screenshot with one of the new class 25s in use? :p

Paul

The 24 and 25s in the Blue, 1970s

Hi Paulsw2

here is my contribution of the new BR Class 24 and BR Class 25 at work.

The Class 25 approaching Chaloner's Whin Junction near York with a down Lincoln to York Van train made up of GUV and CCT vehicles, a couple of which are soon-to-be-retired Gresley CCTs to diagram CU7. The "old main line" (York & North Midland Railway) comes in from Normanton along with the line from Leeds through the overbridge in the background by the Class 25. The Class 25, The GUVs, the CCTs and even this section of the ECML are no more, consigned to history. The ECML was rerouted from Chaloner's Whin in 1981 with the diversion meant to permit coal mining in the Selby coalfield, which had ceased by the early years of the 21st century.

Two Class 24s on a heavy duty I associate with them between 1966 and 1974 - the Tyne Dock to Consett iron ore trains. Here they are just taking the Consett branch at Ouston Junction hauling nine 1954 vintage BR 56 Ton hoppers and heading towards South Pelaw Junction. After 1966 most weekend ore trains were routed via Pelaw, Felling, Gateshead and Low Fell but after 1970 and the mothballing of the Washington to South Pelaw Junction line all Tyne Dock ore trains took the route via Gateshead. The line would be reopened in 1974, but for the successor to the Tyne Dock trains, the Double-headed Class 37 service from Redcar with new wagons.

Sulzers at Sunderland Bridge ECML Early 1970s

More Type 2 Sulzers of Class 24 and 25 at work in NE England during the early 1970s. Inspired by scenes from the 1960s in the Booklaw series "D For Diesel" Which I think runs to 12 volumes.

the East Coast Main Line near Sunderland Bridge through "the bends" a Class 25 on the down line hauls a northbound Dagenham to Newcastle Ford Motor Company train loaded with new Ford Escort Mk1 cars. I am uncertain where the depot was on Tyneside but with one of the region's largest dealers just to the west of Newcastle Central and Forth Banks it could have been on the eastern stub of the Newcastle & Carlisle Railway line from Scotswood Bridge. Alternatively, it may have been at either Heaton or Gateshead Central Freight depot, which was built on the site of Borough Gardens shed.

The northbound Class 25 approaches a a southbound train of loaded loose coupled 21T HTO Coal Hoppers bound for Darlington Power station in the hands of a Gateshead shed Class 24 paired with a brake tender.

A closer shot of the Class 24 on the southbound train.

I remember when Trainz had a pack for the West Somerset Railway route way back when. Is the shot taken on an evolution of that one or your own route?

It's the original Railwaves one heavily reworked and updated - the intention is that it will get released one day.

24 081 visited the WSR in 2013 and is seen here climbing out of Bishops Lydeard with a train for Minehead. Many thanks to Paul and Gary for the new 24!

I've got the WSR add-on in TS12 and I must say you've transformed it out of all recognition! Good to see you making use of the new '24'.

I finally have an idea for a livery:

A Class 344/1 at Exton Central Station, bearing the livery of the National Operator.

Is this too much/little cant for a linespeed of 50-75mph?

This section of track isn't actually part of my route - I'm just experimenting with Super-elevation/Cant/Whatever you wanna call it.

"First Great Wild Western"? My route is fictional, and the UK technically does have a desert in it.
