Great find, i think that is the only video with G1's? not including when the subway first opened....;)
ok, i got two new pictures of a T1 and a H5 from today!:)

For the T1, i made sure i was in that angle, because if you look, the driver couldn't see me taking the picture;)
I'll get more subway pictures as soon, as i ride another subway,meaning, saturday probably. I will be going to Davisville stn, then so i should be able to get a side picture.:)
Just a question, what are you going to do with the pictures i have?:p is it just to look, to make the model, or do you put it in 3ds or some program, and just take the front shot as is? never made a model before, so wouldn't know...;)
 
Well, if it's okay with you, can I use them as textures for the sides, doors and fronts/backs? Also, if you don't mind me asking, when you come across it, could you photograph The T1 Prototype (H5 #5796)? From inside and outside, would be the best idea.;)

I'm going to be going on a #5796 hunt too, but if I never spot it I am going to get real mad. 5796 is my favourite of the H5 Fleet. ;)
 
H5 Problem

Is it just me, or do the H5's have a major problem with their doors?

You can see when this car (#5796 in particular) stops at the first station you can see the doors don't open immediately. Does anyone know why?

Also, the area near the operator's cab on #5796 looks like inside a plane lol. :hehe:

I'll try my hardest to find 5796, but there is no guarantee, i'll try though!
And another question, did you mean, that you need pictures of the Doors too? And it will be hard to get a good side view, as poles and other things will be in the way:( And, you'll probably be seeing more back views than anything, if thats alright with you... and since i riding the YUS line more often than the BD line, you will see a lot more T1, and H5 pictures than H6 and H4's....

Yes, doors too, please, especially the ones behind the operator's cab, but then again, I seem to have a soft spot for that area. :hehe: :p

What do you mean 'side views'? If you mean outside, I don not know how poles can get in there. I've been on the subway many times, and I don't recall seeing poles on the station platforms.:hehe: I don't mind if poles and other things are in the way, as long as you can see the important details. :eek: If you do happen to find 5796, could I ask you to film the area of the whole car, from the front to the back? I want to see what 'details' make it unique from a normal H5. If you can't, oh well, I'll just film it myself.

Good luck finding 5796! I know I'll be needing it. :p :eek:

Oh, and what I meant with the 'door problem', if you watch that video I linked to on the previous page, you can see the train stopped at the station but it's 15-20 seconds after stopping before the doors open. What does it mean?

OK, doors are very easy to get good pictures of them:p
I mean side view, as the outside... what important details do you need, besides the front/back view, and doors?
and for 5796, you want me to film, when the subway is leaving the station, or inside?
So you wanted the drivers cab, outside view???
and the door problems, i seen this happen before, on a T1, i think the operator just keeps the doors closed for that time because, they might of pressed the wrong button, was on the wrong side, so he didn't get there right away. I say those because, after the other stations, they worked fine...

Outside? Hmm...nothing much. But what I could find useful is a shot of 5796's front end. ;) As for the filming, I mean, inside the car: filming the area near the operator's cab, the front door, seats, then a quick glance at the first set of doors, then the next seats, and in it goes like that through the rest of the car. Did you ever get a shot of a subway's wheels/trucks? If you did, how about trying that for 5796 and possibly a normal H5. I heard 5796 has UTDC wheels/trucks, and does that mean it has H6 Trucks, or what?

A minute ago, I studied a shot I have of 5796's interior, and there's nothing really in the way, exept for the poles. ;)

i'll try, but even if i find 5796, people might be in the way...
and when i go to davisville, i will get a shot of the trucks, even if it's a T1.

oh, and to your question, since i never been on 5796, i wouldn't know anything about the trucks, so i'm not too sure if it has H6 trucks or not.
and one question, do you know if 5796 is the lead car? because in this pic it looks like it http://www.majhost.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=182317 but in the video of it, it was the front car!:eek:

5796 is not always used as a lead car. My tip is, whenever you can, read every car number on each H5 Train that passes you, and when you "5796", follow it down the platform.:)

Well today i'm planning on going "subway" hunting:p and find 5796, and other subways! but only on the YUS line.;)

I only seen T1's.. i got the pictures you wanted, i'll upload the pictures tomarrow.:)
