German Stock

Does anyone know of any good german sites to download stock, however they also need to be in English as I don't speak German !!

There is plenty of stuff on the DLS from Germany and most of it is in English.

find an online railroad dictionary and just punch in the terms you are looking for and you are bound to find some goodies.

Agree wholeheartedly with Skrogsgorks on this one, Babelfish rocks!

Also, check out VMD - they have some good German freeware rollingstock (and it's in English).

Sites with SBB (Swiss) and OeBB (Austrian) assets are also good as some have German rollingstock and locos too.

When you do find a good site, don't forget to check out their links. That'll often take you to other sites with yet more downloads.

When it comes to german to english and vice versa I prefer: http://worldlingo.com/en/products_services/worldlingo_translator.html it's riddle with popup adds, but it does better contextual translation.

As far as ÖBB and SBB goes, you will need freight wagons from both companies and as far as SBB is concerned some of their locomotives run in Southern Germany too (the Re 421 and the Re 482/484), just as German DBAG and Railion locomotives run in Switzerland. Since ÖBB operates mulit current locomotives too, I wouldn't be surprised if you see their Tauruses in Germany too.

Passenger coaches I am not so sure about, but I can say with certainty that you see German coaches on Swiss rails, so why not the opposite. Again the best places to look are VMD and Trainz Kleinkram (Topae)
