As I was settling down for the Packer game tonight I heard the dispatcher down in Bancroft give BNSF 7142 a track warrant to head west over the CoW from Junction City to Owen. So I jumped in my pick up and headed a few miles west of Junction City to watch her roll by.
I didn't wait long at all until 7142 led her train through the cut and into view. On the head end was a cut of empty CWR cars heading back for another load of rail.
I turned and grabbed this going away shot. Both units were wide open in anticipation of the short stretch of 1.5% just west of my vantage point.
