Conrail train OIEL heads through interlocking on its way to Elkhart Indiana from Oak island yard. this was the last and only train to run the entire EL mainline up until 1992. the rumor is they would have a tower operator follow this train all the way down the line to line the tracks at the towers and then get back into his car and beat them to the next interlocking.
