I can't answer the question for those specific assets, but in general if those assets already have a snow look, it becomes visible when you set the correct level in the environment settings. As most routes are build at 0 or higher, I suggest putting in a negative number.

see the super elevation and shadows on things that are not trains. thats TANE
and its a snow texture added to the locomotive.
