Wasn't too lucky with NY&A action today, no interesting engines out and about. I was hoping to see the mural on 271, but instead I caught eastbound RS30 heading out to Bridgehampton to service Pulver Gas. This shot shows one of NY&A's "practical" motive power arrangements..

Nice to see 261 running long hood forward though. :D

Hello LNER,

43955 is prowler901's KUID, his assets are steam locos chiefly payware, check his website www.steammachine.com

138423 is joram24's kuid, he does mostly diesel locomotives and are found on a couple of 3rd party sites, rrmods is one of them, search on www.rrrmods.com it might be a donationware asset rather than freeware, but he does some great models and well worth any money spent on them....

Unsure about the other KUID number....

Well, 2 out of 3 'aint bad......:hehe:

A few days ago I saw on a LIRR/NYA message board that a lineside industry out in New Hyde Park on Long Island was purchasing an ex-PC caboose and a pair of boxcars just to have at the company. Seems like he's a train guy. ;) So a couple of my friends and a few other railfans trekked out systemwide in hopes of photographing the caboose on the rails.

I was lucky enough to catch them right at the New Hyde Park station, slowing down to enter the formerly abandoned industry track which had the switch reinstalled so the train could now access the building.

I was happy to see that the NY&A put 271 on the train, making for some neat shots.

And here they are after 261 ran around the train and coupled nose-to-nose with 271, and after pushing the caboose into it's new home.
