HLCX SD40-2 6206 (ex-British Columbia Railway, exx-Kennecott Copper) leads five and a half thousand feet of mixed freight northbound along the banks of the Mahan River. The picturesque Sugar Valley seems peaceful at first glance, but looks can be deceiving. The 2.2 percent climb up the valley provides a tough challenge for the crew!

A southbound vehicle train tops the grade at the famous curve at Hilltop. The lead SD40-2 still sports its Southern "Tuxedo" paint.

A northbound Norfolk Southern manifest is only a mile or so from conquering the grade as it passes the interlocking at Glade Springs.

Good shots there everyone.
@BigDan I did not know Western power was common on NS in the 1990s. You still see Western Power on NS and CSX trains

SP power was seen regularly on the Rathole, as well as on the lines in the Birmingham and Atlanta areas.

Nice Shot! Especially since NP is one of my favorites! Is that something you are creating as a reskin or is there some trick to doing the grain doors?

Forester
Brian Snook (kuid 103021) has several box cars which can be made to look like they have grain doors.
Download the ones with textures, pick a commodity (I chose wheat), pick a capacity half what you are allowed and the box will appear to have grain doors.
