Looking for MBTA locos and rolling stock.

Hi all,

I'm not exactly sure which forum to post this request in, but here goes...

I'm looking to recreate a small MBTA commuter rail system in Trainz to run concurrent with a simulation of the Northeastern Corridor (the Boston - Providence portion of the route). I'm looking for the following:

1. MBTA painted F40PH

3. MBTA single level coach

I was wondering if anybody knows where I can get these, or failing that, anyone who could create these things for me? I'm sure there are other MBTA fans out there.

Hmm, that MBTA Comet Car looks nice! Thats one MBTA rolling stock down, 3 more to go.

However, when I searched DLS, the only MBTA stuff I could find are the green line trolley cars, an odd looking MBTA loco, a F10 loco, and a MBTA scenery poster thing- all these aren't what I'm looking for. There weren't any MBTA F40PH's, GP40MC's, or bi-level cars on the DLS that I could find. Also the only MBTA content I could find at Trainz Commuter Rail is a F10 loco, which isn't what I'm looking for.

F40PH -- none currently available. one known made, but unreleased.
G40MC -- not sure. probably none made.
Comet/horizon -- Linked above
kowaski bilevels -- none made

there is a set of F7s on the DLS as well as a whole slew of trolleys; oh and a box car.

There are some more F7s at http://trainz.luvr.net

and I believe that is it. something in the back of my head is telling me that a long time a go someone reskined some superliners in MBTA colors...

Ok, got it.

Now I'm wondering if anyone could repaint Magicland's Amtrak F40PH into the current MBTA colors shown in my photo links I posted above? Ditto for any generic GP40MC.

As for the bi-levels, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to make one similiar to the ones in the photo links provided in my first post of this thread?

If I recall properly the reason the MBTA F40 never got released (its a very nice looking resking) was that magicland said no. I may be wrong.

no, i actually had an mbta f40 at one time, i forgot where i got it though. :(
 
Hey Guys!

I've asked a person from youtube who has a mesh of the Kawasaki bi-levels to see if he'll send the mesh, and I'll export them into TRAINZ!!!

MBTA F40PH

I am currently reskinning an F40PH into an MBTA.

Heres a pic.

Does anybody know how to get rid of those black rectangles where the numbers used to be?

You may have saved the image that contained the numberboars to to high of a detail. 24KB is what I think should be used for them,anything above that and they will go blank,like so. I hope this works...

if we get an MBTA F40 up for download, can there be two? one with the purple stripe and one with the lightning bolt look. as for bi-levels, people have talked about reskinning a NJT bi-level but the design is totally diffrent. compare the top of the two cars and you'll see what i mean.
 
MBTA F40PH

If anyone wants an F40PH, just re skin Auran's Amtrak F40PH 398. That should be available on the Download Station.
