3804 bringing up the coal for the steam diggers and cranes, it's a real slog up.

Had good steam leaving the coal mine so no banker needed tonight.

Nice pics, but that WD 2-10-0 is looking super-shiny! Is that an effect of TRS19 lighting?

Pau
If that's the loco model I think it is it needs all its shininess settings changed to either '0' or '1' to look right.

I downloaded a different WD model and unfortunately it comes up with faults.

Here's another shot of the Q6 passing the lime kilns at North Grimston quarry. They are really difficult to pull off and this is my third attempt to model them.

The real kilns, seen by me in February 1978. They are submerged in vegetation now.

Great shots @HotShotJimmy ! Which texture did you use for the quarry face ? I have tried innumerable textures and cliff splines but I am never happy.

I'll take a look and get that for you within the hour.

Added some eye candy to the mainline behind Dacre, give it some life while you turn around in the station or join the queue at the turntable.

2920 leaves Dacre behind to head into the Dale with some general goods for Fellbeck. This is a favourite engine of mine just behind the 7F S&D. Great engines for this route and its hard climbs.

EDIT:

So as with most of my textures it's a blend of several, layered by using a small to medium brush size at lowest scale;

A38_V2
Cliffs
CL Grass 13
OCR Sandstone 4 (added the correct tone to match the wagon loads of stone slabs)
UK Cliffside Texture 3

Hey Jimmy, mind if I ask where you got the coaling tower for your yard at Dacre? I've never seen anything quite like it on the DLS! :)

Pretty long day at work so trying to fine tune my modelling skills was NOT going to happen tonight. So into quickdrive, setup the AI and then I took out some engines on the route to see how it all worked. And work it did :D

It wasn't till after I had got it just how I wanted it that I realised the steepness of the line leaving Dacre... it is doable just don't stop on it :hehe:

Fellbeck in sight and the end of the line, fireman breaths a sigh of relief after correctly following the LMS' procedure of "Little & Often"

Since there's no engine up here a quick run around for shunting is required.

It was a nice relaxing evening running the route instead of worrying about what grass and where to lay it. The route is complete as it is but it's not the 110% I'm looking for. Still some LMS details to sort, rough edges to smooth and Ts to cross. In all honesty as most of the engines seen here are Payware you could get away with running early BR stock on it and not seem out of place.

I'm lucky in that most of the villages served by the M&DR were remote from the stations but at North Grimston I have had to simply grit my teeth and get to work. One thing I have learned is that the 1893 OS maps differentiate between buildings by showing brick and stone buildings in red.so the platelayers huts at either end of Burdaler Tunnel are red but all other p-way huts are grey so I know they were wood. I've measured them all out. This is a corner of North Grimston village with the Middleton Arms up ahead.

#2860 Nice screenshot lewisner. Good to see that my basic NER 'litho' coaches are still being useful. I put a lot of work into those at the time so it's encouraging to see that they are being downloaded despite being simple models.

Some excellent screenshots have been posted lately, - well done all. I've been more sleepy lately so I haven't been keeping up with this screenshots thread like I normally would.

They look superb. It's a shame there isn't an ordinary third coach but I'm more focused on infrastructure and signalling.
