According to the BR Database:
No. 1419 was a St Blazey loco between December 1949 and April 1961
No. 1468 at St Blazey from December 1960 to August 1961.
No. 1421 was a Laira loco between June 1958 and July 1960 - on loan to St Blazey for the summer of 1958?

Other Laira 14XX were:
No. 1408 from May 1955 to March 1958.
No. 1434 from May 1955 to July 1962.

With 1421 being caught at Lostwithiel in August 1958 while officially a Laira engine I have to consider that Laira 14XX were at least occasionally sent to work in Cornwall while remaining on Laira's books.
I am now curious about Steam Days referring to the Lostwithiel - Fowey autotrains as ultimately being the last branch in Cornwall to have them, since I have so far only identified five 14XX at least as far west as Laira and three of them were at Laira.

Here are 3 views of 60534 Irish Elegance on Sunday diverted trains. In the first she heads south through Penshaw North Junction with a Kings Cross train via Leamside. On the right an NCB train is on the "rat run" line from Coxgreen Junction.

Here she passes Fencehouses heading north to Newcastle via Sunderland. Fencehouses station was once so busy in the rush hour that the stationmaster complained to the LNER that passengers were in danger of falling off the platform !

Finally she is seen at Pallion, once a heavy industrial centre, now not so much.

At risk of being told off by the mods for posting prototype information instead of pictures this is a useful website. http://shedbashuk.blogspot.com/2017/...1946-1962.html During the years 1946-54 45xx's are in evidence as are Castles, Halls and Granges with some engines from Laira lurking about, - but surprise, surprise no Kings.

Good shots Annie, Ken, Lewisner and Taillight98. T2 0-8-0 moving empty diagram S3 30 Ton steel body ironstone hoppers and P3 0-6-0 moving diagram P6 15 Ton and P7 20 Ton wooden body coal hoppers.




T2 Class 1262 climbs from the bridge above the A1 Great North Road towards Vigo. While the train is on the alignment of the Stanhope & Tyne it is not on the original trackbed. When first built the S&T, like the Beamish Wagonway crossed the Great North Road on the level at the Durham toll gate . A winding engine at Vigo hauled loaded wagons up the incline before then lowering them down the incline towards Washington. As the N.E.R. coped with escalating traffic levels later in the 19th century the opportunity was taken to replace the Vigo incline by having the line cross the Great North Road on an overbridge. The Beamish waggonway was also diverted to join the line.




The T2 and P3 cross paths between Vigo and the bridge over the Great North Road.




The P3 arrives in Stella Gill exchange sidings.

Gosh! An ex-Bristol & Exeter engine on the Falmouth branch. I don't have any South Devon Railway engines at the moment so the B&ER 4-4-0ST will have to do for now. I've just moved my 1880s Cornwall Railway route over to TS2019 and I now have about 200,000 acres of awful to try and fix. The line itself, the viaducts and tunnels are all fine, - it's just the scenery that's trashed.

Why are the passenger trains longer then the frights ? It's not a complaint . Just a curiosity of mine Fantastic shots all .

@borderreiver, have you done the bit of the Beamish Wagonway where it went close to Beamish Station ? I remember as a kid in the early 70s how, when we would go for days out , we would go past the road leading to the current Beamish museum and there were two level crossing gates submerged in vegetation on the branches leading to Beamish Colliery. The course of the wagonway was quite easily visible from the road.

Most of the goods/freight trains you'll see in pictures on here are trip working and pick up goods trains which tend to be shorter trains.
