AltoDave's wonderful 0-6-0 switcher - the complete download

I would love to have implemented some of the features of this loco, (taylored for mine of course), on my 4-4-0's, but could never figure out how to do it. I know there is a lot in the scripting, and that was my weakest link.

There are no links in a rubber band. :)

I think many builders of the above 40 persuation, would love to have some pimplefaced scriptwiz or silverbacked code cruncher handy for all those little features that makes a model even closer to the real thing.

But sadly such are very scarce and the learning curve in modelling alone is getting steeper with every new release of TRS.

I will have a look at the video when I am back on shore. Looking forward to see the real Willy.

Guys --

Also don't forget:
1. It's possible to configure the tender - with or without coal pusher.
2. You can dump the ash from the ash pan.

At most loco depots in my routes there is an ash dump track. It needs to be configured to consume ash. Or see here:

If using TS2009, use the newer download link for the locomotive, see Post #72 above.

Hi yojimbo --

This loco has been around for ages. In fact, it dates back to before Adam was a kid.

I know, but it fell short when I had to decide whether to spend my time chasing dependencies or building stuff.

I am however very glad to see it still works after three (?) generations of the game. Even if it takes some doctoring. The Trainz world needs more of these little work horses.

This works so simply, that even a 4 y/o could download the zip file, and open it in the CMP, and commit all the opened assets...how much easier can it get ?
It works right out of the box with no missing dependencies, no doctoring whatsoever at all !

I managed to track down all the assets for this engine about a year ago , but I didn't realize all the features that where in it . It is truly amazing what is packed in this fine engine. I wish I could fine other engines done up as well as this.

Not exactly on topic but I'm frequently surprised at how good some of the older content looks in TRS19

Ah, just found this thread. It answers some questions.

This little locomotive by AltoDave has probably caused more heartbreak than any other locomotive on the Download Station:

Dave made several attempts to tweak the config.txt file to make Download Helper capture all the files needed by the loco and tender. Unfortunately without success. Hence grown men weeping, wailing and the gnashing of teeth in attempting to get this beauty up and running.

Ya know, it is interesting how much stress can be generated by an imaginary artifact which neither pays the bills, feeds the cat, nor cures neurological diseases.

I've put together a session for IndustRail 1a that uses this locomotive. I've identified those dependencies that Download Helper (and possibly CMP) refuses to find, and incorporated these dependencies in the config.txt file of the session. You can thus be assured that all the assets that are not on your PC will be downloaded with the session and the locomotive will work as intended.

Once you have this UP version operational all the others based upon it should also work.

The only dependencies not present on the Download Station are the coronas used by the marker lights. These can be downloaded from:

Have the whole collection downloading at the moment.
Thanks!
:D
Might or might not go get the marker light bit.

2 questions:
Is this one the UP 0-6-0 involved?
And is there a new mod which allows tender water hatch to double as a track cleaner?
