Australian screenshots

Thanks Lspdyiu ,
All aircraft in the photos are driveable but that would be up to you as to what aircraft you place on the route, for Industries that again is up to you i am just building the the airport to a close but rough measurement,, There are roller doors open on the main building that will have service tracks put in place, but again what you want to run on those service tracks i up to you, all aircraft and service cars trucks cargo tractors and trailers can be downloaded via CMP.

It will take a week or two placing windows around the airport and placing textures on the building but it will get there,,

Rumours from the grape vine i have heard for a number of years now apart from Badger's creek that a new international airport was set to be built at Somersby and this is why the multi million dollar work was done to Warnervale railway station as it was the only geographically railway station that could service that airport and the airport being between Sydney and Newcastle having the M1 Motorway to help service it,, reason that complemented this rumour was that all land around the Warnervale area was set to be re_zoned as commercial land, but by that time anti gravity will be in full swing,, also i was told the fibre optics was also place for this many years ago when they built the double lanes from Ourimbah to Gosford ,, but just rumours???

Nice work there Steve - more Aussie assets are always welcome.

I look forward to seeing it once it's fully detailed.

Now, you are putting ideas into my head. Maybe with some heavy arm-twisting, I might be forced to extend my Sydney route a bit further to include an airport.

I'd better get in and complete what I've started before I make any commitments.

Keep up the great work mate,
Cheers,
Roy

Hey Steve,

For what it's worth.

I've noticed on several models I've made in Sketchup, that the textures which come with the program, appear many shades lighter when installed in TANE or TRS19.

So, I've looked towards using photos of real textures (e.g. brick, concrete, tiles, steel, etc) instead and the colours once installed, remain stable and gives a more realistic look.

Cheers mate,
Roy

G'day all, there's been some awesome work happening around here while I've been on an enforced break from trainz, waiting for a replacement graphics card and attending to my health.
I'll just drop in a few shots and a movie I made while trying to melt the refurbished replacement.

Welcome back Graeme. It's nice to see your continued great detailing and I love the video.

It's also good to see you are taking care of your health, I hope it's not serious mate.

Just recently, I've talked myself into extending my Sydney route to include Newtown Station. Some time ago, I did a little detailing with a Sydney layout created by Aaron. However, as yet I haven't seen him publish it, so I decided to add one small section in.

It's nowhere near finished, but here's a couple of screenshots leading into the bulk of the portals.

Hi Roy, and yes Sketchup does not have a good colour range but i have downloaded a heap of textures and play with them a bit,,

There is a lot of great work coming out that i have seen in the Aussie screenshot and other countries ,, well done everybody,,

Re post #34746, Wow! I hate to see the hard work going into those beautiful buildings go to waste, they are gorgeous! I suppose with LOD and everything else they make quite a package. I wonder if there isn't some way to just box out the faces and add the details, but man, that is awesome work. Well done sir!

Thanks for the feedback mate - it's greatly appreciated.

Most of the models I make that happen to have huge poly-counts, will never go to waste.

They might not be used in routes, but they can be used in various dioramas that I create on single baseboards; and they do make a good background for screenshots using buses, trams and drivable motor vehicles.

Cheers,
Roy

Nice screenshots and video Stefan - Great work mate.

I've just uploaded a newer version of my Driveway Ramps and Corner assets to the D.L.S. This time they are all height-adjustable, which was something I had overlooked originally.

Roy
that is amazing useful input to have on your street kit assets one question will they have rolling as a secondary rotation what I meant is putting the object on a slopy terrain and so the object tilts directly on a slope? For example a man-made structure like a house or a building placed down on a gradient linked to a driveway in a tilted direction.

Regards,
Lspdyiu

Great work Roy, Thanks for those assets, they'll liven up the detail greatly.
Nice work on the N and A class Stefan.
Lovely shots Tim, on a very nicely detailed route and I think I'll just duck down the road for a burger at George's in Bairnsdale :D

G class approaching Benalla early in the morning with loaded grain bound for Melbourne from the Oaklands line.

Now that is a good question mate.

Secondary rolling was something else I hadn't even considered, let alone know how to do it.

I'll have to read up about how it's done, and maybe re-do the lot.

Thanks for the tip.

Cheers,
Roy
