Australian screenshots

Ranger_51, spot on with the tonal representation of the screens. Was it done on Photoshop?
You are legendary with this fine piece of artwork including the signals.

WIP - QR City Train: North Coast Railway

Hi All,

Just some completed shots of the forthcoming WIP of QR City Train: North Coast Railway. Still yet to place the custom catenary and custom content, but it is slowly coming together.

A typical 1996 scene of a 3900 class with rake of KL & TDV van traversing south to Wacol via Woondum, Tandur & Traveston.

Heading South - Woondum 5 Chain Curves.

Okay from MTC, proceed past Woondum to Traveston with X with Spirit Of Capricorn.

What Happened Mr Drifta? Some local larakin gets questioned by the QPS roadside for drink driving and crashing his ute. All the while 3901 passes overhead on the Woondum deviation.

*Please note - the 3900 is a beta, the script has been playing up with the numbers.

Regards

Looking great there Aaron. You wouldn't be looking at making the other U vans you did TRS19 friendly, would you? Only asking because they're really shiny. Otherwise they still hold up nicely

Hi folks its been a while, in lieu with the planned release of the 2800 class in October here is a comparison of the in game and rebuilt mesh. Parts are being modified to further reflect the unique style of these locomotives and an increase on overall detail. It is still a while off, future work will involve mapping animated meshes onto a single map to lower performance/draw calls as well as making the various skins of the locomotive.

It has been a pleasure to see the progress others have made with their projects!

A few shots I took while testing updates to my signals.

Beautiful shots Ranger. There's something distinct and special about black & white images.

Seeing all those overhead gantry's has sparked me off again. I'm back into it again.

Well done mate,
Roy

Hey all,

The Type 7 U Vans are on DLS now, the t1a is the one you need to download for running on your trains,
the t1b is a lower poly version and is for sitting in storage yards.

Cheers.

A screeenshot from the Southlines route with 48s35 leading.

Nice atmospheric screen shot, and terrific route. An 'official' Southlines/WeddinNSW/Lines_to_the_Lachlan' merged freeware route will be available on the DLS 'soon'.

Weddin: Southlines to the Lachlan would be my pick - purely from a marketing point of view of course. Good luck with it Phil
cheers

Thanks Graeme. Actually, I have been leaning towards that as well. It retains brand recognition for all three routes (not to mention not offending anyone's ego - though not saying that is an issue ;)).

Never underestimate the power of marketing. I spent the last part of my career working for a well regarded IT company (when I first got into IT they were iconic). As an IT specialist I always enjoyed working for that company. But it did not take me long to realise that I wasn't really working for an (iconic) IT company, but for a very successfully marketing company whose product was IT!

After some issues with 8129, XR554 was put on the lead of this PN Grain train at Cootamundra. Later on seen crossing Joseph St bridge and passing Chullora.

Hi what route is this and where might i be able to find it? I looks brilliant!

Hey there's some fabulous Aussie work going on lately. Well done guys.

I'm now having a go at making some Sydney Tram tracks with the overhead catenary attached. The model turned out reasonably well, however when placing some Sydney Trams, the bogies don't touch the rails and they sit approximately 0.20m above them. In Driver mode the Panto pole protrudes the same distance above the wire. I've raised the track above ground level as well but the tram still sits higher. Now I'm not sure where I've gone wrong. I've even compared other track configs and I see no differences, but the trams sit fine on them.

Any suggestions guys?

Here's a few pics.

I was recently watching the N3V tutorial on creating a truck model and it pointed out the the model should be set up with the centerline of the axles, not the bottom of the wheel, at the 0 point on the vertical axis. Looking at the screen shots the wheels look like they could be offset vertically by the radius of the wheel. Being a relative newbie at modeling I just found this out so I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Paul :)
