What are the most downloaded items

So far I have 45 items in 3.5 years, of which the Minato Railway layout has been downloaded 3611 times. I don't think I qualify as an also ran yet. I'd better go download some birch trees and get to work.

:cool:Claude

I think the most downloaded route would be Clinchfield with over 15,000 downloads.

ALL AMSTERDAM 3

Actually the most downloaded route on the DLS is: ALL AMSTERDAM 3 with 103,000+

I probably have to least downloaded itmes in history. Look at this:

Subdivision final: 0 downloads
Subdivision Demo: 1 download
Mountain Railroad: 24 downloads
A Winter To Remember: 0 downloads
The Forest: 45 downloads

Now are those counts just from the DLS Dave ?

If you add the count from the depot, you'll add another 7,800. God only knows how many from your personal site and if you have anything hosted somewhere else.

Truly an impressive accomplishment. Makes us lessor mortals humble to be in the presence of such an achievement.

As I was looking at my mere 5.4 million downloads, I noticed that the top 2 - 9 had these numbers
238069 75.5%
225360 71.5%
189398 60.1%
166107 52.7%
164299 52.1%
114761 36.4%
109493 34.7%
103664 32.9%
100895 32.0%

The percentages are based on the number of register users of Trainz, as reported in the members list page, that could potentially download an object.

What I don't understand is my top 1 object
381640 121.0%
This is more downloads than members?

Does the total number of members today http://forums.auran.com/trainz/memberlist.php
reflect all that ever registered? Today that number is 315398. If so, then any reported downloads in excess of the current number of users would be duplicate downloads. How else could more downloads than members be interpreted?

Right now I also show
19,117 average downloads per object
17.4 average downloads per member

As an aside, I just did a trend analysis and all else being the same, I should reach the lofty heights of Dave's current total downloads on 2088 Oct 14. Of course by then his numbers will be out of sight. <sigh>

Yes Martin, this is a good question for Auran!

My Paper Birch 20M tree has been downloaded over 420,000 times! Impossible!

("I should reach the lofty heights of Dave's current total downloads on 2088 Oct 14" I will keep my eye on the rear view mirror Martin! )

If you can see me, then there will have to be a major breakthrough in medical science or else the virtual in railroads will have to include some of us users :hehe:

I tend to forget it's not really real!!!

Ok... I'll virtually keep my eye on you.

Duplicate DLs

Well...let's see...someone like me that has TRS04, '06 & '09 on the same PC. But DLH and CMP don't know the other files are there??!!
So, a downloading I go. :)

Why would you want to download the same CDP multiple times? I too have several versions Trainz but download only one CDP which gets installed where it is needed and wanted, since I don't want to clutter my hard disk with duplicate files. Disk space and bandwidth might be cheap but it's not free so since I'm paying for both, I want my money's worth.
