Fuso, Kongo, Ise..

I didn't realize how close the Porter class is to the Somer class (spelling)..

Wow!!!! They are wonderful !!!.
About destroyers:
Porter class -> Gridley Class -> Mahan class -> Bagley class -> Somer class - it was long way ;)

Oh god...
/instinctual NavyField reaction
"DEFEND THE CARRERS YOU NOOBS!"
"From what? Quit whining"
"Brodcast: All alied carrers sunk"
"From the Ise, Kongo, and Fuso that just raped our 3 carriers"
/end instinct
They look great ^_^

Nice screens and Models Gentelmen .... I got a few more on the drawing board ...BUT!! in the mean time lets bring the world to LIFE!!
Queensland 1940's
In the interactive world of Docks and Ports ...+ a bit of WW2 mixed in
Nth Queensland in the 40's (Battle of the Coral Sea) (excuse the qr 1700 class desiel)
bit outa time frame ...When my late father was a boy he saw the US ships and Short Sunderland flying Boats
in Gladstone harbour and no doubt a lot of steam delivering goodies to the fleet .........

Nice one Dreddman,

I like the realistic flight path too. nice takeoff that.

I hope Craig & I can get it that good with the Narrandera_Tocumwal Project.

Sigh......

The speed of the seaplane's props would not have propelled it next to the carrier (you see daylight limited; " Carriers!"). The smoke from the supply ship's funnel would seem to indicate a higher rate of speed than it appears to attain.....

Overall a very B+ effort.

Poor harbour master.

That is the fastest reversing to stop manouver I have ever seen.

Mooring is a delicate manouver. An old one prop steamer would creep up to the wharf, drop anchor at a ship's length distance and let the cable ease off to be sure to be able to stop the ship with the anchor winch in case anything went wrong. To change from slow ahead to slow astern, requires a series of complex steps on an old steamer and even with an experienced skipper and chief it will still be touch and go. Hence it would be very unwise to attempt any tight manouvering before you have the forward springline securely fastened to a bollard.

Even a two prop KaMeWa equipped ship approaches any jetty with caution (and at an angle). After all: big speed = big dents.

A little detail - inside a large harbour speeds between 4 and 8 knots are the norm, 4 knots provides just enough steering and 8 knots will bring you out of trouble without creating to much wake.
