Question Name of A Waiting Consist?

Is there a name for a consist awaiting deliveries or will it usually carry the name of its first destination?

Are we talking about a cut of cars on a siding, or about a "train?" There is typically no name or designation apart from manifests and switch lists for loose cars.

A train is one or more locomotives with or without cars, bearing markers and operating under authority. There are a variety of designations for them, depending on railroad; timetabled trains often are designated by final destination and perhaps intermediate stops and/or train class.

    :B~)
