Locomotive inspection pit

Where does one find inspection pits similar to this one.
If not available is anyone contemplating producing one.
If yes then could it be a spline type so variable lengths are available.
Also with stairs both ends and if possible with and without board covering.

Here are a few on the DLS. There may be more, maybe connected with roundhouses and sheds. None of these are splines

There is also a repair pit, made up of a fixed asset for the ends and a track section spline to attach between them, <kuid:737614:261> Repair pit - start and <kuid:737614:262> Repair pit, which can be found here.

And the tread-plates I have used with the above, in this shot are track object, <kuid:458053:102424> Plate passage of cable, by Vincentrh, on the DLS.

Hope this helps.

I use a series of spline objects to make mine; lay rail only track initially and then put two suitably dirty walls either side just below rail level, steps at either end and then a concrete floor etc. I usually finish it off by sinking a platform or similar spline to rail height to cover the gaps and add a flat surface to the surrounding area as seen below. This allows for any combination of ash pit, curved etc. as you want.

Problem with the inspection pit is the hole. Because of that, you will likely not find a spline that does the trick as the thing requires a dig hole. That will likely also be the reason most either not rotate or rotate at a 90 or 180 angle.
Or at least that was my experience while building <kuid2:645812:6029:2> Maintenance pit small.

The announced more flexible height adjustments in a future version would allow for easier creating of inspection pits as you would make the spline and manually adjust the ground height. But that's future talk.
