This is something that I've been thinking about recently. I know that there are small jet turbines available for model airplanes which has gotten me to wondering if you could make an actual, working 1/8th scale Union Pacific Gas Turbine Electric (GTEL). Is such a thing possible? I know that the electrical system and other systems would have to be designed and built from scratch, but the jet turbine will already be taken care of.
Is it possible to make a 1/8th scale gas turbine electric?
