The railfan called in the emergency to CSX just as the eastbound manifest freight was coming! While watching this incident, an NS train passes on the nearby former NKP line to Buffalo, NY. A CSX maintenance man came along and is assisting but to no avail.

This is the busy Chicago to Boston mainline of the former Boston and Albany which hosts not only many fast freights daily but also Amtrak's Lakeshore Limited.

Interesting! Doesn't look like that much of a hump that the trailer would get stuck. Seems like they used the goose neck hydraulics to raise the trailer enough.

He said the slope is pretty steep leading up to the crossing which means the back end may have been lower than the front across the tracks. T

This is a pretty busy mainline with freight moving along at 60 mph or more with many of them passing by daily. In those 45 minutes, 3 freights stacked up behind this one and there were more in the opposite direction. Where I live, we don't see that much traffic.

Here's a view of the crossing. The tractor was on one side of the crossing while the trailer was across and down a bit on the other. The slope is pretty steep coming up to the grade on both sides. The single-track side has a bump too that must be a surprise to those unaware it's there and take the road a bit too fast.
