Do TANE-created routes import nicely into TS2019?

Routes originally created in TS12 don't seem to go into to T:ANE very smoothly. It's a troubleshooter's worst nightmare to try to get a TS12-made route ironed out when imported into T:ANE. Does TS2019 even use the same game engine as T:ANE?
