is a picture book of scenery and views of operating passenger trains along the Shasta route from San Francisco to Portland, Oregon. These are tinted photographs. There are no automobiles shown, but it looks like maybe early twentieth century? There is a railroad Ferry "Contra Costa" that started service in 1914 and was decomissioned in 1930.

Thanks
Great little book must have been an enjoyable ride. Would like to have seen the loading of the Train on the ferry.

Well done, Forester1. I really love to find early 20th century railroad pictures and stories. It really helps when building a route.
